Amazon Is Making a Smartphone Again

Amazon is reportedly working on a new smartphone more than 10 years after the Fire Phone failed.

The device is internally called Transformer, is being built by Amazon’s ZeroOne team, and is expected to focus on AI, Alexa, Prime Video, and Prime Music, but there's still no launch date, price, or carrier deal.

The news stands out because Amazon’s 2014 Fire Phone was a major flop.

Amazon took a $170 million loss tied largely to unsold inventory and supplier costs, and it still hasn’t officially announced a new phone.

Perplexity Launches Perplexity Health in the U.S.

Perplexity has launched Perplexity Health in the United States. The new tool connects a person’s health data with Perplexity so they can ask more personal health questions.

At launch, it works with Apple Health and also connects with health platforms like Fitbit, Ultrahuman, Withings, and Clue.

The rollout is limited at first.

Perplexity says Perplexity Health is starting with Pro and Max subscribers in the U.S., and the company says the service is built to help people better understand their health information, not replace a doctor.
