OpenAI Adds ChatGPT to CarPlay

OpenAI is rolling out ChatGPT in Apple CarPlay, so people can use Voice Mode hands-free in supported cars.

It works on iPhones with iOS 26.4 or newer, and users can start a new voice chat in CarPlay or continue an older one from the ChatGPT app.

OpenAI says this CarPlay version is voice-first, not full text chat.

It can’t use maps, live location, or car data, and it can’t control the car or other apps, so it stays limited to conversation.

UBTECH Offers $18 Million a Year to Hire One AI Scientist

UBTECH Robotics is offering up to 124 million yuan a year, about $18 million, to hire one chief scientist.

The person would lead work on humanoid robots, embodied intelligence, and AI models.

This stands out because $18 million a year is an unusually big pay package for one AI job in China.

It also shows that competition for top AI talent is getting stronger, especially in humanoid robots and embodied AI.
